Baby Shower Gift, Quinny Yezz, YouTube

We have been strolling around the city with the Quinny Yezz for 7 months now, the stroller even made it through a New York City winter. In the last two and a half years I have tried out over a handful of strollers with H, so I think I am now able to compare and contrast multiple different brands, price points, styles.

Quinny Yezz umbrella stroller

The Quizzy Yezz is being advertised as the ideal stroller for traveling the world, country or your city and I totally agree. The frame is extremely lightweight and folds down small, the Yezz is a great stroller to get you from point A to B fast. We recently traveled with the Quinny Yezz to Miami and Walt Disney World and it held up perfectly! Plus you can win one of your own a $279 value (details at the end of the post)!

Umbrella Stroller Checklist: Quinny Yezz

  1. Is the price point under $300? Yes, the Quinny Yezz is priced at $279. I think that is a bit high for an umbrella type stroller but it is right in line with the other high-end styles.
  2. Can it be folded with the seat attached? Yes, this is very important when getting in and out of a taxi, walking subway stairs and airport travel with a toddler. Plus the Quinny Yezz weighs 11 pounds and I can easily lift it with one hand (see video below)
  3. Does it have a cup holder? No, I ended up buying a Britax Stroller Organizer to attach to the push handle. You can place a covered cup in the back storage pocket if needed.
  4. How are the tires? The tires are similar to rollerblade wheels, making the stroller extremely easy to maneuver, with a great turning radios. The wheels are small though, so every nook and cranny can be felt and the tires can get stuck in large sidewalk cracks.
  5. Can it accommodate two riders with additional attachments? No, the Quinny Yezz is an umbrella type stroller, so only accommodates one child. It does not come with a kick board attachment.
  6. How is the seat? The Yezz seat is similar to a sling and my son fits comfortably with the material conforming to his body. The seat is only forward facing and does not recline, but the age of the kids using this umbrella stroller probably prefer to be forward facing and will still fall asleep comfortably even without the recline.
  7. Is the storage space large enough to hold a bag of groceries? No, the storage on the Quiny Yezz is only a small pocket on the back of the seat. It can hold a small wristlet diaper bag, child’s jacket, some small toys and necessities.
  8. Can I fold it with one hand? Yes, once you get the hang of the fold it is by far the best fold out there! Plus the Quinny Yezz folds down small, like really small, and then placed on your back like a backpack using the strap (see the video below).
  9. Can I push it with one hand? Yes, it is an easy smooth push with a one-handed 360 spin. This means a smooth ride for my son. I think the Quinny Yezz is the only one handled umbrella stroller out there.
  10. Can it be used from birth? No, the Quinny Yezz is recommend for use once your child is sitting up unassisted so aged 6 months to 40 pounds.

Bonus Question: Is it easy enough for my tall husband to use? Yes, he even said it is his favorite umbrella stroller to use!

I have yet to find a perfect umbrella stroller, but I think depending on your stroller usage and needs the Quinny Yezz might be the perfect one for your family. If this sounds like a perfect stroller for you then you can enter to win one from Quinny USA and My Strange Family!

The best time to walk the High Line in New York City is early in the morning (between 7am and 10am) before the crowds and tourists arrive. The railroad tracks along the elevated public park on Manhattans west side are wide open for walking, with the occasional jogger passing by. Yesterday H and I walked the High Line from the Chelsea Market Passage at 15th street all the way north to the 30th Street Cut-Out. It was a great stroll even in my pregnant state!

2013

Disneyland is in California and the Magic Kingdom is in Florida… Yes, they are very similar and both full of the Disney magic but they are also very different. We just got home from a mini vacation in Walt Disney World, and had an amazing time! H is 2.5 years old and the perfect age to enjoy all that WDW has to offer.

Should you visit one if you have seen the other?
Sure, why not, if the occasion arises to get to travel to both of theses Disney parks then for sure do so. Also if your are a Disney fanatic then seeing both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom is a must! However, as a born and raised Southern California girl my heart lies with Disneyland, and I think you get a lot more attractions for your money.

Magic Kingdom Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse

The two parks share several attractions, and I think Disneyland’s versions are better. For example both parks have a Small World attraction. The one at Disneyland has the world’s fair facade, where the Magic Kingdoms version looks like any other Fantasyland attraction (you could totally walk right past it)! Pirates of the Caribbean is also better at Disneyland the ride is longer (so more Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me) and feels more realistic.

What you will only see at Disneyland California:

Disneyland Sleeping Beauty Castle

Fantasyland

  • Sleeping Beauty’s Castle
  • Matterhorn Bobsleds
  • Pinocchio’s Daring Adventure
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Casey Jr. Circus Train
  • Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
  • Sleeping Beauty Ride
  • Storybookland Canal Boats

Tomorrowland

  • Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
  • Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
  • Innoventions
  • Captain EO

Frontierland

  • Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes
  • Sailing Ship Columbia
  • Fantasmic

Toontown

  • Gadget’s Go Coaster
  • Jolly Trolley
  • Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin

Adventureland

  • Indiana Jones Adventure
  • Tarzan Treehouse

What you will only see at Magic Kingdom Florida:

Magic Kingdom Cinderella Castle

Fantasyland

  • Cinderella Castle
  • Under the Sea Journey of the Little Mermaid
  • Goofy’s Barnstormer
  • Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station
  • Two Dumbo The Flying Elephant
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (still begin built)

Tomorrowland

  • Carousel of Progress
  • Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
  • Stitch’s Great Escape!
  • Tomorrowland Transit Authority (PeopleMover)

Frontierland

  • Country Bear Jamboree

Adventureland

  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
  • Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse

Liberty Square

  • The Hall of Presidents

Another difference between the two parks is the types of visitors. Disneyland has a high percentage of locals who drive in for the day, where the Magic Kingdom attracts mostly tourist who fly in and make Walt Disney World a multi day vacation. Even though the Magic Kingdom is larger making it easier to walk around with a stroller, it does not feel superior to Disneyland. Oh and the Magic Kingdom needs more places in the shade to sit for this pregnant mama.

How many of you have been to both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom parks? Which do you prefer?

Some attractions at Disneyland might not be at Magic Kingdom, but are at another theme park at Walt Disney World. Same for some attractions at Magic Kingdom might be at Disney’s California Adventure.
